I don`t think the marriage in Romford is them cos there is another George Griggs in Romford on census and he matches that marriage. I have checked census just on george and hereford shire but there is no link up . I think I will have to get the bc and then look for other kids or even a previous marriage. Looks like it gonna get deeper. Thanks for everyone one help. And I was answering your questions but I wanted to check stuff out so it wouldn`t lead everyone off up the garden path. x

Cos of their ages i wouldn't even look for a marriage, i'd go for one of the B/C's 1st.

I glad you like it..it'll be gone at the end of the month lol

Julie

PS im bailing out if people can't be bothered to hang around to answer questions i can't be bothered

Julie

Julie Report 18 Oct 2007 14:21

I think cos of their ages ( George & Mary) there are more children i would get one of the childrens B/C and go from there

do you have george or mary on the earlyer census this would help in finding if they was down as being married before the 1871 census

Julie

Karen

Harriets birth would give you Mary's maiden name

Karen

I have been trying to trace a marriage between George Griggs and his wife Mary. George was born abt 1829 and Mary abt 1832. George came from Herts ( as per census) and Mary from bethnal green. Their children ( Harriett and Eliza ) both born in Stratford. I just can`t find it anywhere and I would so love to know Mary`s maiden name. They did not have their first child Harriet until 1870, so maybe they married late I just don`t know. Any wizz out there who think they can help me would be just GREAT !!
Thanks Karen x
