my father,Frederick name stated on birth cert but on marriage cert states Frederick Charles
his father Frederick on my father birth cert but Frederick Charles on my parent marr cert.
his mother on birth cert was Martha Ellen Thomas

my father born district salford 21 Jul 07. address 36 Gravel Lane

my grandfather was deceased when my parents married in July 1949 (2nd or 3rd)

i just can not find any more about my grandparent. can anybody look for me or push me in the right direction. many thanks Iris

Your next step would be to look for a marriage between your grandparents,,,,,,,,combining the two surnames,that of your fathers mother prior to marriage and his fathers surname,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,your fathers mothers will appear on his birth certificate as -----maiden name ,

Your grandparents marriage will give fathers names,then look for their marriage,,,you may make a few hicups along the way but will eventually get there,

i have been trying with both names, not knowing age or marriage dates or area, i have got stuck.

think he had a sister called Mary she was older ?

I've checked the marriages for 1912-1920 and there is no sign of a Frederick (with or without a C) Porter marrying a Thomas anywhere.

i know i have tried 5 year from his birth then 10 years.
ancestry image are the same, can not find a thing. may be they did not marry??? strange
