Hollyhocks Report 16 Oct 2007 22:09

Would it be possible to do a lookup for a family with the surname of MACK on the 1901 census living at 465 Kingsland Road Hackney.

My nan ADA BEARD was living at 463 Kingsland Road when she married JAMES WILLIAM MACK in 1906 (although I have other info to confirm his first name was actually WILLIAM) His father, mentioned as JAMES HENRY MACK is shown as deceased on their marriage cert.

Thanks for any possible help

Reggie & Carrie

Yes, that looks like him, I was told he ran away to sea. He obviously joined the RN.

Many thanks to you both - Sandra x

Thank you for that 1891 census Reg but it is not the correct one.

His mother's name was Alice Greengrass, he was actually christened WILLIAM GREENGRASS, born illegitimately but believe he found his father later on hence changing his name to MACK.

Would love to find his fathers family but obviously a little more difficult, that's why I was hoping there may have been a family at 465 Kingsland Road in 1901 which would have been his as he was shown as living at this address when he married my nan in 1906

Thanks for your help - Sandra x

There is a Kingsland Road in South West Hackney, from about District 23 ish (under London - Hackney), but I cannot see any odd numbers up in the 400's in the enumeration description (there are even numbers upto 500+ though)
