found on the 1891 cencus married an elizabeth.

on 1901 cencus elizabeth is widowed with 3 children, but i cant find his death.

lived in tredeger, bedwelty, south wales.

please help

On 1901 census - what was the age of the youngest child? This might help narrow down the search period.

if he did die away from home is place at time of death recorded or where he resided.

dont really understand the fine details in death records.

Have to agree with Ozibird, this is the only one found within those years and not in Wales

Well, if it is him the family may have moved to Rochdale area then Elizabeth returned home after his death.

Usually addresses are where they were when they died. However the informant & their address is often useful.

all born in wales i think, names are eleaneor b.1891, thomas j b.1894, and william b.1896

How likely is it that they moved after birth of last child to Rochdale where father died before mum moved back to Wales? It's possible that he travelled to Rochdale in search of work ... but what's the distance between their Welsh address and Rochdale and what were road/rail links like at the time? What did he do for a living?

lewis was a haulier coal mines, this was in the 1881 cencus. it could be possible that he moved to rochdale for work and after death elizabeth moved back to be near the family.

could be he started living with someone else, but i know that in the 1891 cencus, there was another lewis vaughan married to an elizabeth but was living in mynyddislwyn at the time.

he had two sons then lewis 9months, and william 2years.

would a women say she was widowed if her husband left her in those days???
