Trying to find G.Grandmother maternal side, her name was Mary Evans born about 1846 { Ireland ?) she married Ellis Crompton born in Hyde, Cheshire. The 1881 Cencus shows her as born in Bury, but known by late family as Irish. They had many children incl James, William, John, Ellen, Ellis, Gertrude, Thomas (my Grandfather) Jane, Bertha. Hi Janice, I already have all that info, and have tried to get copy of Marriage Cert but failed, i am very grateful though for your help. My mum who passed away this year has always said her Grandmother was Irish but i cant seem to find anything about her. Must say though i am still only learning and do intend to keep trying.
