I'm hoping someone can help me find details of my father's family.

What I know: My father was William Albert McAuley Lemon, I think McAuley was a middle name rather than a surname. He was born in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland about 1922. His father was William (known as Wild Billy) Mcauley, his mother was Mathilda Lemon. William senior and Mathilda weren't married, although William senior was married but I don't know who to. Willaim senior and Mathilda lived together as husband and wife in Ballymena and England.

William junior had an elder sister Lillian Lemon and a younger sister Mathilda Lemon. William and Mathilda senior together with William junior, Lilian and Mathilda junior left Northern Ireland for England sometime before WW2. They first came to Liverpool, then eventually settled in Birmingham and Smethwick (now in th eWest Midlands).

Willian senior was a fireman in Coventry during WW2, my father, William junior was in the Merchant Navy during WW2, I have no details of his service record, He later joined the arny, it is unclear whether this was during the war or after, all I know is he was dishonourably discharged from the army.

Lilian emigrated to Australia sometime in the early 1950's, Mathilda junior was placed in a Dr Barnardos Home in Sussex, this was during the war.

I am looking for grandmother Mathilda Lemon relatives in Ballymena. Any Ballymena Lemons in your family trees?
