Trying to locate McHugh, O'Donnell and Mulgrew

I am trying to trace back my father's side of my family and have come to a halt. I have a John Mulgrew (son of John Mulgrew and Catherine Duggan - both born in Ireland, but I have no information other than that) who was born in Ireland about 1834, moved to Scotland (Kilsyth) and married Mary O'Donnell (who was born in Campsie, Stirlingshire about 1842) in 1861.
Mary's parents were John O'Donnell (born about 1801 in Ireland) and Sarah McHugh (Born about 1811 in Ireland). John O'Donnell, wife Sarah and daughter Mary (with Siblings) appear on the 1851 Scotland census.
Any information about where in Ireland they originated would be most useful.
