Helen Louise Morgan - Marriage 28 June 1922

I've just received information from New Zealand about my grandfather in the UK. In his letter to his brother 's family in 1964 he mentions attending his sister Helen Louise Morgan's marriage in London in 1922 when he gave her away. I believe the date was 28th June or July.

I have looked up this date with no success, which is unusual because his date recollection was phenomenal. Any help or steer would be appreciated - Helen Louise was born on 26 March 1894.

Thanks for all the replies. Sorry Reg whilst my grandfather Albert Edward Morgan's letter gives loads of information - it omits the name of the spouse. He simply says he met the happy couple at Paddington and fell in love with the bridesmaid who he married 6 months later on December 24th 1922 in Islington.

Maybe a long shot but are you certain her name was Helen.....could it have been Ellen?

My grandfather letter states "in June I had a letter from my sister in London asking me to come up and give her away as she was getting married on the 28th".

I have recently been told Helen was a seamstress living in London but the trail on her has been cold since her birth. That's why I was so pleased to receive this reference.

He goes on to say that that he married the bridesmaid by Christmas - the records confirm that Albert Edward Morgan married Anne Hilda Kate Hurley on 24 December 1922 at the Mary Magdelene church Holloway.

Thanks for your suggestion Mary - I think it will probably be worth my while to check out the certificate.
