Apparently if the parents weren't married, they were not allowed to put the father's name on the certificate unless he was present at the registration. Have you found them in 1881? That might give you a clue. |

if she is rhoda,s daughter , i doubt the fathers name will be on birth cert as rhoda wasnt married. |
