Thanks Jen, I was thinking that also. Graham Norton on WDYTYA- had a breakthrough last night on the Parish Registers ! Did you see it ?

i personaly dont think you find a fathers name on the cert,

Hi Jen and Sandra, I have Rhoda's MC to Robert Squire of 1873.
On the 1881 census she is recorded as Elizabeth B Squire. Presuming the B is for Bond.
I wondered if the baptism record (if she was baptised) would state anything any different.
I may just have to order the birth cert for Mar 1869 and hope it is her.

Apparently if the parents weren't married, they were not allowed to put the father's name on the certificate unless he was present at the registration. Have you found them in 1881? That might give you a clue.

if she is rhoda,s daughter , i doubt the fathers name will be on birth cert as rhoda wasnt married.

Evening Everyone.
I wonder if anyone has access to baptisms in Tong, Bradford.
I have an Elizabeth Bond age 2 daughter to Rhoda Bond on the 1871 census and wonder who the father is.
Can anyone help ?
