No No Betty,

Please do not use any of your credits on me.

James is not a direct descendant (other than being my grt-grt-granny's child born before she married my grt grt grandfather)

I was hoping to find out a wee bit more about him and thought he may be on ancestry.

Thank you so much though, for your very kind offer .

bye Helen

Hi Rose,

As far as I know James Scott did not go to Canada/USA.

After his wife Jane Scott died in 1910 at their home at 8 Fleming St Glasgow, George Donaldson went to Canada with his two youngest children. He left his older children behind in Glasgow.

As James Scott did not appear with the family after 1881 census, I am presuming he married and hopefully stayed in the area.

bye Helen

Is this the same George who went to the US? Perhaps James went too?

Hi,

Looking for James SCOTT born September 1866. His birth is registered at Milton Glasgow. He was illegitimate, his mother was Jane Scott.

On 1881 census he was residing at 8 Fleming St, MIlton, Glasgow with his mother and her husband George Donaldson who lists him as stepson. His profession is listed as Glass Worker. He is not living with the family for later census.

Would like to locate him on 1891 and 1901 census if possible.

Many thanks

Helen
