Birth Cert before adoption

Can someone help me please?

My friend found out that she was adopted about 5 years ago and now wants to find out about her real parents and has asked for my help. Her adopted mother has only told her that she was born in Erith, Kent and no more. A few years ago, she hired someone to find out her real birth name and mothers name and she now wants to trace who her father was....she has been told that he was Canadian and in the navy over here during the war! Her real mother was only 17 when she was born.

With the names I have, I have found the birth record of her real mother, however when searching for her own birth certificate, I find that the 1/4 of her birth is missing off the listings on Ancestry.

How can I find the listings of births for the June 1/4 of 1963 - name Cleggett so that she can order her original birth certificate?

I have explained that the cert may not show who her real father was, but she is willing to obtain the certificate anyhow.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

WW2 ended in 1945...............it seems more likely that the Canadian was your friend's grandfather!

Am I not using ancestry search correctly?

I have now gone to see if her mother was married later and can't find one. So then I looked for a death and still cant find that!

Maybe I should go to bed and try again tomorrow?

Susan Mary Cleggett born Mar 1/4 1945 Maidstone, Kent Vol 2a P1884....so where is the death or marriage?
