I'm looking to trace my family tree. All I know is my mothers maiden name is Pamela Jean Sawyers, born in 1942 in Henfield,West Sussex. Her fathers name is Joseph Albert Sawyers.He was born in 1912 in Chiddingfold we think.Her mums name is Violet Mini Luck.She was born in 1910,in Brighton.My fathers name is Peter Hedgecock,he was born 1941 in the Sussex county hospital.

You need the marriage certificate of Joseph and Violet.
Hopefully their fathers will be named and you should then be able to find them in the 1901 census.

When was the 1st child born to Joseph and Violet?.... That is often a guide to finding the marriage.

I think this is Josephs birth:

Births Sep 1912
Sawyers Joseph A W (mothers maiden name- Garman) birth registered in Horsham

Their is a marriage 1909 for Thomas Albert Sawyers and Margaret Alice Garman (Reigate)

Peter Hedgecock is registered in July-Sept Quarter 1941 Mother Maiden name is Hedgecock, district Brighton Vol 2b page 530.

Am assuming either his Mother and Father had the surname Hedgecock, or your Father was named after his Mother surname, possible Father not named on certificate. You would need to buy to see

Thomas A Sawyers 16 Sussex East Dean, East Sussex, Maresfield, Occupation Agricultural Labourer

Cannot find Margaret on the 1901
