I stand corrected, opinion seems to be that you do not need the exact date, I was under the impression you did for certificates from the last 50 years, but have not ordered any from that time

Unfortunately it is unlikely you will find it Christine unless you know it for certain.
You could try local papers for the Bournmouth area on the off chance for a death notice.

This is the problem with trying to order certs from the last fifty years, you have to have all the details

The only way to get the exact date is to buy the certificate. Others have given you the reference number to enable you to buy the certificate. Unfortunately there are no facilities online for providing exact dates. The certificate will cost £7.00 from http://www.gro.gov.uk

There is no need to specify the date on the order form, just fill in the section for the reference number.

I'm trying to order the death certificate for Ellaline Mary Elizabeth Nicholas Scrivens who died Nov 1972 in Bournemounth 6b 592 (thanks to everyone who helped with this)

I need the exact date to order the certificate, any ideas where I can find this information???

Thanks
