Desparately seeking a MASON

I'm looking for my father's birth certificate - John H Mason b. 05/11/1943 in Luton, Bedfordshire. But I can't find it anywhere!

Also my Grandfather Harold Mason died approx. 3-4 years later (1945 - 1947?) in Luton, Bedfordshire, but no sign of a death certificate either.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Where have you looked and what is his mothers maiden name? As he was born during the war, it may be his mother was evactuated for her confinement.

Hi Heather,

Mother's maiden name was Walker. She originally came from Great Yarmouth, but my father is adamant that he was born at Luton.

there is nothing for him in 1943 , you had six weeks to reg so sometimes births come in the next 1/4.

Sorry, i misunderstood - read 1/4 as a date not first quarter - so John H Mason, born Warfedale could be a possible? Google maps lists Wharfedale, Luton as a place

Does one have Mason listed against it? Steela and Harold were not married and Stella assumed his name.

Im really confused with this, Stella was born Stella Mildred WALKER, she married and became a GEORGE then divorced and met Harold MASON and had his son 1943. So potentially it could be under any of these three surnames. But John is quite adament that he was born in Luton.
