Please could somebody kindly have a look for me regarding Henry Dixon, i have a possible birth year for him as 1893 under Thurnham Parish Cockerham near Lancaster Lancashire, he married Jane Worthington in 1916 registered at lancaster, Jane was born at Conder Green Thurnham Parish Near lancaster in 1896, i can't find any children for this couple?
I think Henry's father was called William Dixon born 1863 but i haven't a mother
Plus i'm baffled by Jane Worthington's sister - Eleanor Worthington born 1905, i was told she was married to George, but i can only find a marriage in Lancaster for a Ellen Worthington Marrying a Thomas Brewer in 1925??
many thanks

Hi

I found your Henry on the 1901 census; he was living with his Nan, and judging by the other names of the household, i have a feeling its his nan from his mothers side:

Jane Standen
Age: 67
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1834
Relation: Head
Gender: Female
Widow
Occupation: Living on Own Means
Where born: Cockerham, Lancashire, England

Margaret Standen
Age: 31
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1870
Relation: Daughter
Mother's Name: Jane
Gender: Female
Occupation: Monthly Nurse (From what I can make out of the census)
Where born: Cockerham, Lancashire, England

William Standen
Age: 9
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1892
Relation: Grandson
Mother's Name: Margaret
Gender: Male
Where born: Cockerham, Lancashire, England

Henry W Dixon
Age: 8
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1893
Relation: Grandson
Mother's Name: Margaret
Gender: Male
Where born: Thurnham, Lancashire, England

Hilliam Lane
Civil Parish: Cockerham
Ecclesiastical parish: Cockerham St Michael
County/Island: Lancashire
Country: England

Hope This Helps..x

And another bit of info here: i think this is possibly henrys father william in 1901:

Agnes Dixon
Age: 64
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1837
Relation: Head
Gender: Female
Widow
Occupation: Housekeeper
Where born: Pilling, Lancashire, England

William Dixon
Age: 38
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1863
Relation: Stepson
Gender: Male
Where born: Thurnham, Lancashire, England

William Dixon
Age: 10
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1891
Relation: Grandson
Gender: Male
Where born: Thurnham, Lancashire, England

Address: Longlands
Civil Parish: Thurnham
Ecclesiastical parish: Christchurch
Town: Thurnham
County/Island: Lancashire
Country: England

Now william appears to be single on this census, and it looks like he has a son anyway, so his children including henry mite have been illiegitamte?(wrong spelling i know lol) and if they were, at least you have the luck of knowning who henrys mother was, since he was living with who i pressume by the name; was his mothers mum. Best thing to do tho is get henrys birth cert if your still unsure. but this looks good to me :)

Regards x

Hi,

This could be a possible daughter:

Bessie Dixon, Q2, 1920 - 8e 1326

The registration district is Lancaster and her mothers maiden name is Worthington.

Hope that helps
