Find Ancestors

Hi, i am new to this but i am stuck. I have managed to go back to my gg grandad (Samuel Bood) and now i am trying to find his father but i can't find a birth record for samuel so i don't know where to go from here. If anyone could help that would be great.

Yes he was born around 1852 probably wolverhampton area, i can find him on the 1881 census but nothing in between.

Could this be him with parents in 1861? The name has been transcribed as Booth, but on the image the name has first been written as Boode, but then crossed out at what looks like a later time when the enumerator was checking the details and the name Booth written in. Bushbury is in the city of Wolverhampton according to an online map I use.:-
