I don't know... but i should think Chelmsford Record office would be start... there is also a2a if you google it for archives...
I'm sure someone here will have a more definitive answer for you though!

I have found an ancestor that was in Chelmsford Prison in 1891 (Census) and then he was in Wormwood Scrubs in 1901 (Census). Does anyone know how I go about obtaining Court or Prison records please. Thanks. Tracy
