from the age difference and the son and daughter being 21 and 19 .would safely say this must be second marriage for Walter & Frances l jellis in the child of the marriage to Maud

That's part of the glory of this hobby, Chris, the spelling of names, & the dates of birth.

Spelling was phonetic before compulsory education & therefore it didn't matter how they were written.

Mis-spellings......or mistranscriptions have always to be allowed for...............the images are not always very clear, ditto the writing.......and much of the census transcription was farmed out by Ancestry to countries where English is not the first language..........and a knowledge of British geography is virtually zero.............

Is it common to have the Surname mispelt? I know I have certainly come across one ancestor with her first name spelt differently of 3 census records.
