Oh dear Wendy, you did put St Olave on your request for the cert didnt you? Yes, most of mine are from that district.

Genuki - google it - will list the registration districts in areas.

Well I've just searched St Olave and one of them came up Southwark in South East London, which is exactly where he supposed to come from. Thanks for the help guys :).

Hmm it may well have been as I haven't been able to find any St. Clavo references at all online. I think I need glasses hehe.

What is this Genuki?

Wendy, are you sure of that name? Or perhaps you havent got your glasses on either - LOL. Certainly I took it to be St Olaves when I saw it in the heading (without my glasses!)

Hi Wendy - what was the first part of the GRO index reference?

Heather

Never head of that one - have you googled or checked genuki? ( I havent got my glasses on and when I first looked at that I thought it said St Olave!)

Does anyone know where this is? Apparently my grandfather's birth was registered in that district, he died about 30 odd years ago so unfortunately I can't ask him. I have ordered his birth certificate but I am impatient and goodness knows when I'll get it with with the RM striking.

Thanks in advance.
