Can anyone tell me where I can find out if my gt gt grandparents were married in this church, they would have married between 1886 and 1890.The IGI only has them to 1835.
The names are William Johnson and Catherine Willmore. Their first child was born in Tong late in 1890 and the birth cert has mother as Catherine Johnson formerly Willmore, I have all details of her except her marriage. I know it is a possibilty that they never married but without obtaining the deatils I cannot find the details of which William Johnson she married ( or didnt)
I have checked the images on Ancestry twice, but could have missed it
Any help please

Use freebmd to find the marriage ref and buy the certificate for £7 from GRO online.

Oh, but you say you have already checked the complete bmd on ancestry?? Is there any chance she had been married previously.

Just in case someone is trawling through the images for me, the name Willmore gets transcribed as

Wilmore/Willmore/Wilmer and even Wilmot

Hi Christine
I did see him, but on the images for the same qtr she is not there. Its a sham as that time would be fantastic as their daught was born in October 1890

It may be worth emailing Bradford library to see if they would take a look at the church registers for that period.

Huddersfield library will do a free 30 min search so it could be the same there.

There is contact us at the bottom the page.

Hope you have some success.

I've just had 2 copies of baptisms from the registers at Huddersfield and some other details for £1.50, great value.

I have had a response from Bradford and they do have the PR's so will look forthe marriage for me and issue the cert if they find it for the usual £7.00
Brilliant.
Although this marriage is around the 1880-1890 it doesnt appear on the images on Ancestry, ther is one possiblitiy for William Johnson but not the corresponding entry for Catherine Willmore.
I will wait and see

Good at least they are looking and not going to charge anymore than a normal cert.
