I agree with the birth given to you by Kathleen Ball, however I should point out that Thanet in this case implies Ramsgate which is on the Kent coast. I should also mention that Ewell, Kent is/was a very small community of a few hundred people and is siuated near Dover.
The Ewell generally known is in Surrey near Epsom and there was a birth of a John in 1813 but he died in 1814.
