Does anyone know why a birth would have to GRO references for the same person.

I have a Martha Rowney born Sept 1/4 1904 Wolverhampton
GRO ref: Vol 6b P 662 and 611

Why would that be?

Hi

It actually says Rownes not Rowney ... There are no notes or anything at the side so I would have thought it should be two separate registrations.

Sorry Gail it was a typo - my mistake should have read Rownes, I wonder why there were two registratiions?

Hi

I think it should be two different people.

I don't think this is the same person with two different registrations - although in an index this size there are inevitably errors - but coincidental as it may seem it should be two different Martha Rownes being registered.

Gail.
