James Baker 1844(castle cary). 1871 census shows soldier in Woolwich. He married in 1872 in Bristol to Jane Filer(1851). They had a son Alfred Daniel Baker in 1890(Bristol). Can't find them anywhere in 1881,or 1891, or 1901. or any other siblings. Any ideas out there please

Hi Bernice

On the 1871 there is a James Baker, Soldier in Woolwich Royal Artillery Barracks that is born in 1846, Bristol - also a James Baker born 1845 Castle Cary in Aldershot Barracks, private in the 94th Regiment, just clarifying which one is yours....

Could they have been abroad most of the time with the regiment?
