Do not have a marriage certificate only marriage details. I know that Eliza was born in St George in the East in 1876. Obtaining their marriage certificate should be my next move |

JOHN BARNES married ELIZA FLORENCE RATCLIFFE in Wandsworth in 1898. They had a number of children a son (possibly John Alfred??) born 1899-1900 killed in the battle of jutland??, Florence Hannah (Cissy), Ethel, Esther, Violet, Edith (my gran) and George. Possibly more that did not survive infancy. Eliza was born in Middlesex but I have no idea of to John Barnes birth place. There are so many JOHN BARNES I don't know where to begin! His middle name could have been ALFRED, according to my mum but on the marriage certificate he is just JOHN. |
