marriage certs give you fathers names and Occupations....plus addresses.

trying to find my g/father alfred harold wood born northfleet kent 1893 wife may hills father george wood
i have his birth cert and his marrage cert also he merchant navy record the last was in 1935 then i can find nothing then till my dads marrage cert that say dead i try all the record bdm ,nm, still no luck any help
