how do i trace grandfather

i am trying to trace my grandfather fred blow he was born 1875c he died aged 59 1934, his wife was alice smith but can find no marriage for him or death for his wife, so i presume that one of them had already been married so just lived together,the earliest date i have is 1904 any help or advice on how to find them would be welcome. thank you chas

Hi Karen thanks for reply this is the first time I`ve seen this and the names go with info I have I checked some of the marriages but I did not go this far back I only went back to 1873 I will send for marriage cert and see if all names check out and I will come back to you and let you know result again many thanks for your help Chas
