I am trying to find ANY connection to Elizabeth Lomas, born 1854.
She was my Great Great Grandma and married Joshua Cottrell. He was born in 1852.They were from the Manchester area.Elizabeth is one of our hardest relatives to trace.
Thanks,
Hillary

Do you have her marriage cert? It could be that her dad died young & her mum remarried, then it would not be unusual for her to appear on the census under her step dad's surname.
