Glad i could help Chris

Its sad to here about those who died young, even though it was years and years ago. I always feel a bit sad when I come across a childs death while doing my research.

Happy Hunting, good luck

thanks I've got her, never thought of shortening to cath! kind of sad really I always hoped she had lived a long and happy life because of her Dads tragic end, she died of disease of the spine had it for "years", so could have been disabled much of her life!! very sad but at least I have the answer now, thanks to you

best wishes Chris

There is a death of a Marion Johnston, other names Orr and Millar in Paisley.

Have you looked for these on Sotlandspeople?

Have you checked out the Catherine death? Is it the right one?

When did Marion die? Who was the informant on the cert?

Do you have any of the siblings marriages? Does Catherine appear as a witness on any of them?

Where do you have the family in the 1871? I can only see one Marion born c1824 in Paisley, living in Glasgow.

Hi Christine,

May be better if you change the heading of your thread to Scottish 1871 census lookup.

I'm still looking for info. on Catherine Wylie Orr, born july 1859 Paisley, found her living with siblings and mother Marion in 1861 census but nothing afterwards, no death cert or any record the rest of family continued to live in Paisley, any info would be a breakthrough

Thanks chris
