I am trying to find the missing link from thier children who moved to Merseyside and became Howard. Grandchild Jane married James Howard in 1902 in Liverpool. I can't find who were the parents of this ancestor. I do have grandparents John and Jane as living at 9 Nelson Street Cumbria 1851 and had 4 dhildren - two were twins. John and Jane were 48 and 47 then. Oldest daughter Catherine was 24 and unwed. Son John 13 and sailor -twins Ellen and Jane 3 months were Catherine's children.

I have found out her mother Catherine was a single parent and later married. She had the twins Ellen and Jane and it was Jane who married a Howard. Jane McCormick (grandother) aka Tiffen came to live in Birkenhead with her grandaughter Jane. I dont know if the whole McCormick family moved here before that thought

As previously stated Catherine McCormick's parents were John and Jane McCormick. Jane's surname was Tiffen before being married.
Hoping this makes sense to someone.
