Hi I am looking for a Charles Bailey born 1811 ,on the 1861 census it has the N next to his place of birth ,he is living at Hendon with William Bailey born 1854 and they are lodgers .Can anyone find Charles before 1861 ? thankyou ,Suz

If James and William are his children then it seems a bit strange for them to be listed before him on the 1861 census

Thankyou very much everyone,sorry I didnt reply straight away but had some probs with my computer.I know that the Baileys lived at Ilkeston,Derbyshire and the business is still there on East street.It is a stonemasons.
I would be very grateful if someone could find William Bailey on the 1841 or 1851 census.I am looking for his parents or where he was born,although living at Hendon,Middlesex he was not born there.There is a N next to where born,anything is appreciated,thanks again,Suz.

Hi,yes I see what you mean ,Charles does have a line instead of a name?On Ancestry it does say he is Bailey but on original census it doesnt?Now I am looking for a parent for James and William.
