Thanks for that John.
Downloaded the medal record as a keepsake. I suspect that other than what I have now, it would be highly unlikely that any other military data exists on Charles Pearne like DOB or age on Army entry/discharge or enlistment location.

A.S.C. stands for Army Service Corps,Known from 1918 as Royal Army Service Corps, and today as the Royal Logistics Corps you should look up the National Archives site at www.nationalarchives.gov.uk follow the links for "awards and Medals". You can also download a copy of your relatives medal record for a small fee, £3-50 I think.

I am trying to find info on one of my mothers relatives. Sadly she died in 1996 and I didn,t ask her the right questions at the time. I believe C Pearne may have been Charles Pearne but I'm not sure. The only info I have is from his First World War Medals. The inscription is:
R4-063846 Pte C Pearne A.S.C.
I would be surprised if anyone can provide info based on what I have given but perhaps someone can direct me to a better site more relative to miltary personnel from WW1.
Any help is appreciated......Chris
