Thomas and Lilian Parker

I'm trying to find any information about my grandparents Thomas Edward Parker, his wife Lilian Ada and their offspring. At the time of my parents' marriage in January 1940 he was described as "Baker (journeyman)".They lived in Hackney London (probably Stoke Newington). I know that my father (Frank Alfred George Parker) had brothers Edward and (I think) Arthur. Edward died intestate about 10 years ago in Sussex.

Could this be your grandparent's marriage:-

Thomas E. Parker
Sept. qtr. 1915, Edmonton, 3a, 1785

Amongst the others on the page is a Lilian A. L. Graves.

If you know your father's birthdate you could check his birth reference to see if mother's maiden name was Graves, to confirm whether or not this is the correct marriage.

Without knowing his year of birth it's difficult to find a birth for your grandfather, so you would need the marriage certificate first to find his approximate age, but this is just one possibility for his birth:-

Name: Thomas Edward Parker
Year of Registration: 1894
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Stepney (To 1921)
County: London, Middlesex
Volume: 1c
Page: 400

If that is the correct marriage, then this could be Lilian's birth:-

Name: Lilian Ada L Graves
Year of Registration: 1884
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Shoreditch
County: London, Middlesex
Volume: 1c
Page: 61

This is all supposition without knowing if the marriage is the correct one, BUT, if it is then this looks like Lilian in the 1891 census:-

Have just found this birth which I am assuming is your father (I worked out the approximate year of birth from the year of marriage being 1940). This confirms that his mother's maiden name was Graves, so I would think the information in my other replies is correct:-

Frank A. G. Parker, mother's maiden name Graves
June qtr. 1918, Edmonton, 3a, 755.
