Lost half-sister

My mother, Evalina Rayner, had a daughter between 1938 and 1940 who was handed over to relatives to be brought up. I think she was born in Sheffield and brought up in the Grimsby area. My mother named her Audrey but that could have been changed.If anyone has any info I would be very pleased to get it. Thankyou.
