My knowledge of Lancashire isnt too good, but having Googled, the will, if any, will be at Lancashire Records Office.

Hi Ann

Place of death was Westhoughton, Lancashire so I would think it would be Bolton but not sure

For 1809, it depends where the will was proved. If PCC it will be on the documentsonline site - £3-50 to download, if there is anything! If they lived in the Midlands or North of England, the will could be elsewhere. If you can give details, might be able to suggest where.

1878 and 1905 are available at First Avenue House in Holborn London for viewing. Big registers by year the grant was issued, the cost is £5.00 and all you have to wait is an hour - assuming you find what you want.

1809 are available at TNA in Kew - look at the TNA website for details.

Nothing online unfortunatley. Remember not everyone left a Will, but when they did they're always provide interesting details.
