Thanks for the info Victoria but I have already got that information. I am just stuck before that. Some of my grandads aunts and uncles were (according census) born in Congleton, Cheshire, and some in Birmingham. I just can't find anything prior to this. John O'Donnell was born in Ireland - somewhere!! I don't know exactly when he died. I have a death certificate for his wife Ann (d1906) but it says that when she died she was the widow of John. My grandad was under the impression that John had moved away to Yorkshire. I don't know if he did go, or where he died. I would love to find some relations of these siblings. |

I have managed to go back quite far with most of my family but I am really struggling with my Grandfathers side. He is George O'Donnell, born 1917 in Birmingham. His father was also called George, he was born in 1884 in Birmingham and he had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, some were born in CONGLETON,Cheshire. I know that my Grandfathers Grandfather was called John. He was born in 1854 in Ireland. I don't know what part of Ireland he was from or when he came over to England. Does any body have any O'Donnell ancestors from the Congleton or Birmingham areas that may be related?? Or any information on how I might be able to find out more. My grandad celebrated his 90th birthday this year and he is quite interested in finding out more about his family. |
