Would this be him on the 1891 census? I see he was a deputy in the ironstone mine, same as Grandma's first husband.

His name is on the Durham Mining Museum site here:
http://www.dmm.org.uk/names/index_m.htm

I see he died 29 June 1900, age 47.
Incidentally my grandma's first husband was killed in that mine in 1913.

My grandfather William Henry Richard Mallett was Kill in ESTON Mines (Yorkshire) in 1900 He was A bandsman in Eston Salvation Army band. I was told he was 6'3 with a long black beard any information on the ACCIDENT or the BAND would help
