Why can't I find any James Birds on 1881 census on Ancestry?

I have him in 1861 and 1871 with his family in Gayton Thorpe, Norfolk but I can't find him in 1881..

There are plenty of James Birds listed in the other census' but nothing for 1881.

Any ideas anyone?

His sister Mary Ann is shown on the 1881 as Neice with James and Kezia Anderson in Swaffham.

There are 7 James Birds in the 1881, shown as born in Norfolk +/-5 years of 1859.

Thanks to all of you. I have traced all the others in the family but can't find James....that death record looks like it may be him.

Henry ended up in Fulham, so did Robert and Mary, Benjamin I traced to Middlesborough, William to Gt Massingham, I think John died in 1869 and both samuels in 1865, Elizabeth died in 1862 I think.

Just leaves James to find....that death must be him

It gives me something to work on....just need to order some more certificates!!!

Thankyou loads....

Dee
