war record HELP PLEASE

i am trying to find out about a angus mckillop mitchell born in scotland 1920 . i know when he was 16 he joined the police .

my gt aunt has told me she has a photo of him in a scottish army uniform.

how will i find this out? i have no other info on him?

So he would have been in the second world war.

You could have a look on the National Archives website (but its unlikely you will find him there unless he was mentioned in related documents) or some of the forces websites. Only the man himself or his next of kin will have access to his army records - you can buy them for about £30 but would need more info than just a name.

You may want to see if anything re his police service exists?

when i ordered his fathers police records that is when i found out he was also in the police force but they cant tell me if he is even alive

if i can give them a death cert or a letter from him i can gain access
