You don't say which part of the country we're looking in
Get the marriage certificates, this will tell you the fathers' names, and then we can be sure we are finding the right people in the 1901 census.
And get the birth certifcates, to get the mothers' name and maiden name.
Without those certificates, it is just a matter of guesswork.

yep 99% pos , thats them can you find them in the '81&'91 census at all please
Also trying to find the marriage of Edith born abt 1897 to John Sandall this would have taken place no earlier than 1924 as their first chils Anne was born in 1924 and they were married , they also had a son called Dennis born dec 1926
