I don't understand. The marriage I posted was Charles Hilditch & Mary Platt in Wolstanton, then a son born to Charles & Mary same place the following year. That son shows up on the 61 and 71 census that Jen found. Are you saying it's the wrong family?

the only one that fits, born audley 1923 is married to a harriet. they are tog all the way to 1891.

Thanks for checking but that seems to be a different Charles and Mary.
This Charles Hilditch was born in Audley and christened at St. James's Church in Audley on 26th January 1823. His parents were Thomas and Sarah Hilditch.

Hi Diane,
I have a marriage for Charles Hilditch and Mary Platt at St. Margaret's Church, Wolstanton in Sept. 1849 ( 17 308 ) confirmed on Staffs BMD C30/4/478 so I thought they would have been together on the censuses.
I saw Charles with Harriet on 1881 Census living at Audley but thought that might have been a second marriage.or another family member. I don,t know then. Was Harriet on 1851, 1861 and 1871 then Diane?

The only Charles Hilditch I can find in Staffordshire on those censuses with a wife Mary was born in 1828 in Silverdale. The Charles Hilditch born c1823 in Audley Staffs is married to a Harriett

I need some details from 1851, 1861 and 1871 for these two if possible please.

Charles Hilditch born about 1823 in Audley, Staffs.
His wife Mary ( nee Platt ) born about 1822 in Audley area.
