wherever they married it would have tohave been licensed for marriages. its only recently that licences are granted for other venues from churches or register offices, Your best bet would be to get the cert cos that will state where the marriage took place. |

Combe comes under the Chipping Norton registration district, so I would have expected Combe/Coombe Abbey to be the same. |

I don't know what the situation is now since all kinds of places are licenced for marriage, but I do know that at the time you are talking about no one could marry out of doors, the ceremony had to take place inside a building. |
