Welcome Kerry.

Sympathy about the JONES'...I've got some too...and Davies as well !

When was your grandfather born?
Has he died?
If so and it was after 1969, his birthdate should be shown on his death registration / certificate.

It is always helpful to give an idea of dates and places. It doesn't matter if you don't know exact records but it is hard to guess the age of a 'grandfather' .....who could have been born 1860s or many decades later.
