May have been just because the age is wrong also her father doesn't seem to be there and it doesn't say he's deceased on the certificate...so not sure to tell the truth.
But I've just remembered a couple more things...
Dad said that Charles Henry B. (her husband) met her while working in Covent Garden near to where she apparently lived :S She apparently had a sister called sarah (I don't know how old she was or if she was younger or older though) who lived in Birmingham when my dad was born in the 1940s...but then again it may be something similar to Sarah because dad only met her when he was very small and he thinks that Alice had a very strong London accent anyway (obviously sarah may just have moved there though :S)

I've been looking for my great-grandmother for months but with no success so though I'd give this another try!
Her name was Alice Matilda Wood, her father's name was Charles Wood and he was a market gardener. She married Charles Henry Buckfield (a flower seller) in 1905 in Croydon, stating that her age was 21, however, I was informed by a very kind Genes member that her date of birth is listed as June 1887 I think (possibly on find my past with her death record if I remember rightly...).
I just don't know where to go with this one, many people have tried to crack this but no one seems to be able to uncover anything.
