Hello, Is anyone out there looking for/interested in a Mrs. A J TEICHERT? It's such an unusual name isn't it?. Searching amonst my own family memorabilia I came across a letter, dated 14th June 1957 written by this lady to my Aunt. She had sailed to Cape Town from the George V docks London, 2 months prior. She was in the Salvation Army and stayed with her daughter, Sister A J EDDY. She had made a promise to my Aunt to find and visit the war grave of her father who had died of Enteric fever whilst serving in the British Army during the Boer War - and she kept it! It's a beautiful moving letter that I'm sure her descendents would be delighted to have a copy of it. please contact me if you are related to her |
