Can anyone find Robert Fowler Born 1842 LIverpool on the 1851 and 1861 census in the Tadcaster area.
I think he might be with his sister Sarah on the 1851 census. Thank you

This is the only one showing for a Liverpool birth. i can't find a sister Sarah though.

Hi ,
Have been struggling for ages over this.I have Robert on the 1871 in Liverpool and married. Cann't find him on any earlier census in liverpool. My cousin has come up with Tadcaster area where she thinks they might be at that time,possibly with mother named also Sarah. Their father is still in liverpool in 1851 but no signs of rest of family.Is it possible to check the tadcaster area for me? Thanks

is the right Robert. I wanted to check if he was in the Tadcaster area in 1851 and 1861 as I know he was in Liverpool in1871. Thanks,Sorry to be confusing.

Mary, what is the father's name? You say he's on his own in 1851. I gather Sarah was sister's and possibly Mother's name? Do you know any other siblings?

Hi Liz,Fathers name is also Robert and I have him on 1851 census in Liverpool at a Lodging house.Only children alive are Robert and Sarah ,2 other siblings dead. Can you check the Tadcaster area for Robert and Sarah the children in the 51 and 61 census?

This is the only Sarah turning up in Tadcaster in 1851. Nothing for 1861 and no Robert at all.

Thank you.Sorry not the same Sarah.Robert would be 9 and 19 in the 51/61 census.I am at a loss not knowing where he was from 1842 ,his birth, to to 1871 when he was married.

Mary, I found this record for a Sarah Fowler in the 1851 census in Tadcaster. She was listed as a daughter-in-law (which doesn't make any sense).

First of all if she was a daughter in law, then Fowler would be a maiden name and it states she is married. But then again they were only humans and were capable of making mistakes. It's possible that it should have read "daughter" but no children.

Hi Joan,
The children Robert and Sarah were both born in Liverpool. I have just spoken again to my cousin and she said is there an area called Tadcaster Appleton- Roebuck. Robert would be 9 on the 1851 census and Sarah about 13.I don't know were she got this area from but I thought I would ask. She gave this up a year ago as there were too many roberts and sarah in the family.Thanking you.

Mary, do you have any other info. such as the Sarah's maiden name, approx. year that the daughter Sarah was born or names of siblings to Robert and/or Sarah Fowler. Many times small children were sent to live with grandparents or aunts and uncles if the parents went to find work.

Here's another option. Is it possible that Robert's mother's name was Ann or Sarah Ann and she went by Sarah? For many months I was trying to find my great grandfather's younger sister, Margaret Little and I couldn't find her but I knew she married a man by Holliday. She was listed under Ann Little (Ann being her middle name). I notice on the record below that the daughter's name was Ann S. Fowler. Just a possibility when searching for information on this family.

It is Robert who is My Gt Grandfather that I am interested in .I have Roberts birth certificate. Born March 5th 1842 and just registered as Robert Fowler.
I have 1841 census for Liverpool with parents Robert and Sarah and baby Sarah aged 2.
I have 1851 census for Liverpool with Robert Fowler [father] in lodging house ,but no sign of Mother Sarah and the 2 children . I am desperate to know of Robert between his birth and the 1871 census where he is married to his 2nd wife and children from his 1st marriage.
