I bought a picture 15 years ago and on the back was the following message. (Charles J grandmother Brock Childrens great grandmother from picture Emily has). The message looks like it was written a long time ago it is in a style more like my grandparents handwriting around 1900.

The picture looks like it was taken 1850 but could be a lot earlier. The lady in the picture has a lace bonnet and a large ribbon bow under her chin. It is very clear and she has wide bright eyes, black hair and a long straight nose.

If anyone thinks it may be a member of their family please let me know. Sorry its not much to go on but I thought it must be worth a try.
