Liza

I have Ancestry which is £80 a year, and you can find so much info on there, also there a many on here that will do look ups for you.

The only thing i can say is be prepared to what you might find out.

I foung out my Gt G/mother was a bit of a loose woman, am i bothered by it, no that was her life.

On here so far you have found your Nan was married before, she was married only a few months and he died in the war.

Thanks Julie

You make this all look so easy, maybe I am looking at the wrong records!

Any help on where I should start looking for Ancestors or what records I should be looking at would be much appreciated .

Thanks

No Worries Liza

From the B/C you'd get an idea if Mildred was married before cos it would say

Mildred Glaister formerly Rigby nee Lambert

Thank Julie/Sophie

I am fairly new to all this and didn't realise it was going to be such hard work!

The reason I have not ordered the birth certificate is because I am not 100% sure this is my grandads birth register record. Being fairly new to this I am frightened I have just assumed this is him, because this is the right year and the right area!

Julie

Julie Report 15 Sep 2007 18:33

This is probable his parents marriage, but get the B/C to be 100% sure

Hi can anybody help me in tracing my grandfathers family, unfortunately I have little information.

My grandfathers name was Joseph Henry Glaister born 1920, Birth Register Volume 10b Page 1233 quarter Jul, Aug, Sept.

His mother is registered as Littleton of Wigton.

My grandfather married Mildred Lillian Lambert in the early 1940's and they had two children Derek Feb 1943 & Allan 1946 who were both born in Sedgfield.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
