Trying to find Joan Chapman

Hi can anyone help me I am trying to find my fathers long lost sister Joan Chapman she was born in Ackworth west Yorkshire in 1922 I don’t have any other info on Joan (married, kids ect ) my father was Clarence William Chapman any help would be gratefully received

Hi Suzanne thank you for your reply no i havnt checked marriage records as i wouldnt know where to start i dont even know if she was married or where she lived as she moved away from Ackworth and no one knew where to, all i know is she was born in 1922

Could you please give her mother's maiden name, I could then check to see if Joan had any other initials.

I have found 3 birth indexes, I weill give you the mothers names then you can tell me, if you know, Bradwell, registered Dewwsbury,
Philpott, registered Wakefield
Dixon registered Wetherby

is it any of these?

Graham,

I have found a Joan Chapman marrying a Frank Gilbert - Bradford registration District 9b page 167. Oct/Dec. 1940.

Dont know if this could be her, it will be quite a difficult job I should think unless by chance Joan had any other initial, then if a marriage was found and THAT Joan had another initial that would seal it. But until I have her mother's maiden name I cannot tell.

Hi Marilyn thank you for taking the time to look these up for me Joan was born on 29th August 1922 in Ackworth Yorkshire and as far as i know she did not have a middle name her mother was called Mary Ann Markey she was born 10/11/1892 i hope this helps
