Hannah, I can't solve any of your questions,but I can add a little more confusion.My g.g.g,grandfather Randle Walton married in Stockport in1803. He was a weaver,so presumably lived in Stockport, but he and his wife Elizabeth [nee Pownall] had their 6 known sons christened in Allostock Pres. church.I'm assuming he originally came from Allostock. Have you ever come across him?

I dont think the 61 and 71 census is your family,
ive looked but cannot find them, but i did find a Joseph Walton born in Allastock in the 51 census.

Do you have samuel in the 71 census? just looked yes you do so this family is not yours ill look again!

On the original image it looks to me like the age is reading 8? instead of 2 for samuel so that means he was born in 1853 which is more like it.

Entire family stated to be born in their parish of residence (as you say, Allostock, Cheshire)

Hi Everyone,
I had a look at the 1871 census for Samuel Walton b.1854 and i found him coming up- son, age 17, labourer, address Allostock cheshire.
When i tried to look at the rest of the household, his parents etc... it was an actual copy of the census and i couldnt read it very well at all. I think i could make out possibly Joseph and maybe Sarah.
Is anyone else good at reading the old census records? or does anyone else have access to a printed census on ancestry that they could look at for me please?
