Can anyone help me find this family in the census 1901 please or earlier.The only info I have is from a marriage certificate of this couple.The marriage is between John Gallagher and Margaret Ellen Holmes who wed in 1896 in Parish of St Stephen Carlisle.Parents were James Gallagher andWilliam Holmes.I have info on William Holmes and family but need help on James Gallagher and family any help would be very much appreciated.Both families lived on St James St,Carlisle,Cumberland

Jean, I cant find them at all in Cumberland...will look elsewhere though. Jet...on the image of the family you found it states John aged 19 is single :0(((. What ages do John and Margaret Ellen give on the marriage cert please?

Hi everyone John was age 21 years at time of marriage and Margaret was 19 years old.At time of marriage John was living at no12 james st and Margaret was living at no 1 james st.Thsy wed on july 6th 1896 at the parish church in the parish os st stephen,carlisle. John was a labourer and Margaret a winder.her father was a labourer and his father was deceased at time of marriage

I don't know if this will help. No father present mother down as widow will look in 1871 see if father is James. This is the same family I think in 1891 no luck yet with 1871. Hi Jean well I have searched and searched cannot find them in 1871. There is a birth that may be one of his sisters. picked one of the more unusal names Esther. It may be worth getting her birth cert. that will show her fathers name. Hi Andrea You,ve done me proud,THANK YOU.I shall print all of this off and study it carefully but looks like youve definetly found the elusive James.I,m hopeless at digging out long lost relies,with this family found Iam now able to put my grandmas family on.Its been very hard trying to put my family tree together as my parents split up when i was a toddler and they never kept in touch with each other and now both are deceased i have struggled to find any family that may be out there who are related to me,hopefully someone somewhere may be looking for me too.Once this family are sorted then i shall concentrate on my Pearsons.Once again thank you Andrea Regards Jeanx
